Powerful Prayer of Release and Surrender
Lord, I surrender all to You in this moment. I release to You the things that I am holding onto.
I acknowledge my struggle with [insert struggle] and I bring this before. My heart wants to hold onto this but I release it to You. I need You in this. I need Your peace. I need Your healing. I need Your hope.
Enter into my heart, may Your Spirit be upon me. I release the burden of my struggle to You. I specifically release [struggle] to You with open hands. I know that Your grace and love and restoration will enter into my life and work in me. Where Satan tries to steal away my peace and hope, may Your Spirit fill me.
I surrender all to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Prayer of Release of Control
Lord, I surrender control. I confess that I am holding too tightly to ______. I confess my fear of letting go.
I proclaim Your sovereignty over my situation and over my life. I know that You are working all things for my good. When I can’t see You at work, I choose to trust You above my emotions and fears.
I step out in faith right now and open my hands in release of control of this situation. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer of Release of Hurt
Lord, I am hurting right now. I don’t know how to surrender this pain.
But even in the hurt I know You are working. What the enemy intends for evil, You can use for good. I pray that You would bring me Your hope and all-consuming peace in this pain.
I release my hurt to You right here and now to do with it as You know best. I choose to do this in faith and proclaim that You are good and will do good things in me!

Lord, I come to You right now with my fear and anxiety. I confess that my fear/anxiety is keeping me from Your peace.
I know that You call me to peace. I choose to cast my fear on You right now. I know that Your almighty hands can hold my burdens. I choose to take Your peace in place of these.

A Prayer of Release of Loved Ones
Lord, I release to You [name] right now. I am holding my grip on this person but I know that Your sovereignty is over their life as well.
I know that You love them and are with them. I pray that You would make Your love known to them right now. I pray that You would draw them to You in this time.
Show me my part and help me to truly release the rest to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
A Prayer of Release from My Past
Lord, I release my past to You right now. I know that it will always have an impact on me, but it does not need to have its grip on my life.
It does not define me, I am made new, redeemed and restored in You. I am forgiven and loved.
Wherever Satan tries to convince me that my past has a hold on me, break those chains. It happened and You were there with me then just as You are now. Your mercy and love are over me and it does not need to control me any longer.
Bring me peace and healing as I surrender it to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
How do you pray for things out of your control?
It can be so hard to pray for the things that we cannot control.
Just the other night, I tossed and turned in bed thinking of all the things that I couldn’t control and wondering what, if anything, I could do about them.
In some ways, we are forced to pray because we cannot control these things. But so many times I try to grasp at control of things even though I know I can’t.
How do you pray for things you cannot control? You must release them to the Lord – sometimes over and over again.
Acknowledge His sovereignty and goodness and proclaim this over the situation.
God has a plan, even when we cannot see it. And thank goodness for that, right?
Imagine if we were in control, the mess we’d make!
Pray to release these things that you cannot control to the Lord and He will bring you peace in them.
How can I release my pain to God?
Releasing your pain to God is going to be an ongoing process, sometimes every day, sometimes every minute.
When we have hurts deep within us, it takes time to fully release them.
Pray often.
Read Scripture and replace hurts with truth.
Understand that God is with you. This can sometimes take time to truly learn and believe.
I find that writing out a prayer and Scriptures that I can use often helps.

Letting go first takes a commitment. You must choose to release your pain, your hurt, your fear to the Lord.
And then you must follow through! Don’t release it and then expect it to be gone, it will take consistent releasing!
